The End of the Exams

June 29, 2007

It’s been rather disastrous, but at least I’ll have some breathing space before the work and the results come crashing down on me.

Not too long ago, I came across this. Most people might find the advice normal and mundane, yet one of the points struck me.

“this log should have not only the title and author of the books you read, but the dates you start and finish them if possible. Even better, put a note next to each with your thoughts about the book. It is extremely satisfying to go back over the log after a couple of months to see all the great books you’ve read.”

And now, that’s yet another thing to add to my ever growing to do list, which is currently in such a horrible state that it’s no longer representative of how much work I have to do.  That of course led to my sudden desire to start using iGTD, read David Allen’s book actually start GETTING THINGS DONE.

Most fortunately for me, 5 free-ish days have dropped from the sky and hopefully when I get back to school, everything will be neatly organised.

Reset

June 24, 2007

I’m getting 8 hours of sleep tonight. Resetting my sleep cycles.

Good luck to everyone taking exams!

And it draws near.

June 23, 2007

The trophies sat on the table, lined up in a row. Two takeaway coffee cups, a Mcflurry cup, a fries box and an empty plate. I had had 5 hours of sleep the night before and 6 hours of Economics had taken its toll on me.

As I thumbed through the last few pages of my Economics textbook, frantically scribbling important points onto scraps of paper, I felt satisfied. I knew, as I closed the cover of my book and packed it into my bag, that as each second passed, another factor affecting demand slipped from the grasps of my tired mind. Soon, even the letters in my mnemonic would come to mean nothing. Yet I felt contented.

There is but a day left till the common tests arrive. I’m not well prepared and I know it for a fact. I have failed terribly, but I have faith that he will understand, that he will wake in my bed tomorrow morning well rested and take the baton from me, to run the next lap.

And most importantly, I have faith that tomorrow, he will succeed.

June.

June, briefly.

5 weeks away from school (Holidays + pre u sem)

2 weeks away from home (pre u sem + wow)

3 weeks and 1 day without my macbook (Servicing)

21 days without blogging (Still thinking of an excuse )

14 days free from coffee (It was horrible. Don’t worry, I’m back on it now)

I really need to get started on my IOP.
